Senior Environmental Consultant
Job Description:
Matson & Associates, Inc. (M&A) is seeking a Senior Level Geologist/Scientist/Engineer for the firm’s State College, Pennsylvania office. The ideal candidate will be charged with expanding the firm’s national market through his or her own personal client base and leveraging M&A’s current capabilities. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in high-level environmental consulting to industrial clients, law firms, public-sector clients and/or non-profit organizations. Experience with litigation support and expert witness testimony is a plus. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated individual who is looking for growth potential within a small organization.
Required Experience
- 10+ years of consulting experience
- B.S. degree and advanced degree in engineering, hydrology, geology or other applicable discipline relating to the environment
- Reputation in a discipline that enhances and expands M&A’s services:
- Surface water and groundwater supply, monitoring, planning
- Soil and groundwater testing
- Water and wastewater treatment
- Environmental site investigations / assessments
- Environmental engineering
- Regulatory compliance
- Managing and mentoring mid-level professionals
Ideal Qualifications
- Interest in leading the growth of a smaller office
- Interest or experience in litigation support and expert witnessing
- Self-motivated, client-focused
- Professional registration
- Loyal client base
- Ability to develop and implement strategies for business development
Responsibilities
- Perform analyses for highly complex environmental and engineering projects
- Manage and effectively communicate budgets, schedules, data, results, and analyses to clients
- Represent M&A and interact in a professional manner with clients, and regulatory personnel
- Provide project management and field supervision
- Identify new clients and/or develop additional work within an existing project or with an
existing client - Publish work and present at technical conferences
