Matson BiofuelsIn 2009, Jack Matson and a former graduate student were awarded a patent for “Green Biodiesel”, a novel method for producing biodiesel from a variety of feedstocks using sold metal catalysts at high temperatures and pressures. As compared to the conventional process, this method provides for faster conversion of feedstock to oil, reduced environmental impact and cost savings. M&A’s Matson Biofuels division has received over $200,000 in grants to fund additional R&D work. Matson Biofuels is conducting research toward the commercialization of “Green Biodiesel." |
